Over half way through this alphabet now. Art O'Connor (alter ego/nemesis) contorts himself into each letter of the alphabet so providing an excuse to honor some formative influences, currently relevant or appropriate, or reference art discoveries that fit some ill-defined paradigm. For each letter could easily come up with a number of artists who have played some role, oblique or blunt, in my own practice as an artist. For "O" I considered, for example, James Arthur O'Connor, Art's namesake, though I have never encountered his work before. This would be a nod to a fictional ancestry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Arthur_O%27Connor#List_of_paintings
I also considered Georgia O'Keefe, Yoko Ono, Jose Clemente Orozco, Dennis Oppenheim, Tom Otterness, Manuel Ocampo, Claes Oldenburg (really for his early work and happenings).... You see the problem...
